We had a chance to test it both walking around at the SHOT Show floor and at the shooting range with Aimpoint COA.

It is noticeably louder than the Supreme Pro-X and with the TACTICAL sound mode at full volume it is as if you can eavesdrop on every conversation.

So are the new Sordin Supreme T2 twice as good?

Is a Porsche 911 Turbo 8 times as good as Honda Civic?

First of all it's not a fair comparison because the T2 is a Tactical headset with extra sauce inside for RFI, comms, etc. T2 meets the MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards which do not apply to commercial headsets like the Supreme Pro line. It has redundant speakers which means when when batteries are out radio/communication will still function. Just the wiring alone is twice as much compare to the Supreme Pro series. Each wire is soldered by hand so that alone doubles the assembly time and labour.

A similar product from Peltor would be the Comtac VIII, they go for $900 USD. It has less than half the battery life and does not have modular design.

I have my Supreme Pro-X for 15 years (I have taken it to all over the world) and I can honestly tell you these offer noticeable improvement in sound quality, at max volume it is noticeably louder, it's super easy to change battery. I no longer need to buy a second pair if I want to mount it to my helmet.

Do you need it? No you absolutely don't, but some of us like to own nice things.

With little info on these out there and you having first hand experience with the new T2. Based on the numbers these have better noise reduction than my pro-x which is awesome. How do they compare dimensionally to the pro-x? I ask because if they are bigger at the bottom of the ear muff they are more likely to lift up or off while in a cheek weld, thereby reducing the sound reduction achieved for my intended purpose. I appreciate that you are bringing these in and thanks for any info/insights you can provide.

There's only slight difference in thickness. There are muffs from other brands that are way bigger and it is not an issue.
