Other than butt stock and grip. Are there any other differences between the the GI model and the base model?(right hand)

Also.... xcr-m, any better? A used one on EE is about the same as a new STAG.

You mean the GI model and the MLOk model? There’s also an enhanced muzzle brake with the higher end model. Not sure about the barrel but I think it’s the same. The specs are on Arms East site.
XCR-M is yesterday’s news but really nothing wrong with them. They would still be $2k+ rifles if the Stag and BCL 102 didn’t show up. If you like AR operations, then the Stag rules but if you don’t care, the XCR works very well. The original heavy barrel models are a lot heavier than a Stag Arms.
