Source for .224 bullets below $10 / 100?

Can anyone recommend a source for .224 bullets (55 grain) for below $10 per 100?

I know of one that sells Remingtons for well below $10/100 but almost always is sold out (wonder why lol). Checked almost all the supporting vendors, best I have seen is $120 for 1000 for Hornady (whose bullets are normally way overpriced) but still higher than my one source.

Wanting to buy in bulk qualities.

On a side note, I see that .223 ammo has come way down in price, just picked up a case of 500 Federal 55 grains for $160 from a store in south eastern Ontario, that's almost .30 cents per round... Getting back down to where it's no longer cheaper to reload even it's free brass lol!
 
Reloaders.ca appears to have 55gr Hornady FMJBT bullets for $115/1000. That's not far off $100/1000.

It's about $0.20 a round (before taxes) for me to reload using surplus WC-735. Even at a maximum pressure loading, and using Ramshot TAC powder, it's only costing me $0.22 a round (before taxes), using free brass of course for non-surplus high quality powder.

That said, my 20" 1:9 twist AR-15 absolutely loves 55gr Federal AE. So much so, that I'd love to cook up a recipe to duplicate it. Based on what I've been able to google up, I have a suspicion that it's Winchester 748 powder probably ontop of something that performs like a Hornady 55gr FMJBT. Alas, I don't have a chronograph to confirm my suspicions. To reload something like that, it'd cost about $0.23 per round (before tax and using free brass). So, technically it is cheaper. The big question is what's your time worth?
 
Henry posted a while ago that if it is a large bulk order he can do better then posted on his site. They guy that asked was looking for like 5000 projectiles (.224 fmj)

I got 1000 55gr fmj-bt Hornady from reloaders.ca $115 per 1000 as stated above. Excellent customer service from Andrew as well!

I am very interested about this store in south eastern Ontario where you get factory .223 for .30 a round? Please Advise.
 
I was quoted 1k price on 5k quantity.

I will look into reloaders.ca. $115 for Hornady is getting there.

My XCR loves AE .223. One advantage I see to reloading is that I can select powders that may not be as temp sensitive. I also have a bolt .223 for longer range shooting.
 
I dont get it. why can we buy 1000 FMJ 115grains 9mm berry bullets for 88$, and 55 grains 223 fmj are 115$?

Maybe I didnt use the right terms, but arent 115 grains berry 9mm bullets FMJ and fully copper jacketed, same as 223?

they go right though a wood block and they retain the same shape, the copper jacket has to be quite thick.

No they aren't, they are plated, not jacketed. Because of the much lower velocity, plated works in the 9mm application.
