Where (if) can I find a Canadian sorce for a Walther PPK in .380Auto? This is my ALL TIME fav pistol and I would love to be able to have one. yes I know most people consider it a "mouse gun" and need a big .44Mag to feel manly:p So if anyone can point me in the right way for finding one I'd be greatful.

Thanks, UTAF

If you don't have 12-6, restricted ones, regretfully modified with an extended barrel, show up occasionally on the EE.

The easiest way i found was to find someone or a retailer who have a 12(6) walther ppk, buy it from him, then have HIM (still registered as 12(6) to the owner) sent to a gunsmith who can have it rebarreled as restricted and do the paperwork, then the owner can transfer it to you. Heard a good place was Barry at bits of pieces (heard he do all the paperwork, etc)... I checked about a year ago and at this time it would cost less than the one i seen on the EE and you could "choose" your ppk you want rebarreled, just have to find someone who is ready to go through the hassle...

My two cents

Just my two cents

Thanks for the idea...I am gonna have to do that then

Depending on which version you find you'd need a barrel that was between 0.7 and 0.8 inches longer than stock. That's actually not so bad. I thought it would be worse.

Ida know...post a WTB in the EE here? You might get lucky.

Good luck on your hunt and also start finding ammo.I rarely see that stuff kicking around.

"Sackofnoise" gave you information about the way I've done this on a few different occasions. And I've used Barry. He does very nice work. Takes time, though. I have a gun he's installing a "restricted" barrel on, and I sent it to him in June. Still waiting. Doesn't bother me, but some people get upset at the waiting time. Also, be aware that the value of a PPK with a barrel sticking out the end of the slide is seriously reduced. If you're going to have a smallish pistol with a long barrel, you might as well pick something like a PPK or Sauer 38H that has a longer barrel to begin with. The visual aspect won't be so jarring.

Epp's had a couple of ppk clones that seemed surprisingly good quality that had been done and seemed quite reasonable.
