Hey guys, Looking if anyone knows where to buy a "stock" stock for a 1943 (or any year that will fit) M91/30? I have a stock on mine that has been a bit bubba'd and would like to change it out since I think it is affecting my POI in a big way. I've only seen 1 on EE over that last while.

Thanks.

Did your 91/30 always have bad POI?

The more I play with the 91/30s, the more I think they are temperamental. I have a beautiful 91/30 with bad groups. After re-crown and up-sizing bullet to .312, it keyholes at 50 yards from six inch previous groupings. I like to shoot with the bayonet off, so I had some sight and load adjustments.

Is your stock tight and solid where the receiver doesn't move or give? I've used thin aluminum shims to make a tighter fit, which seemed to help.

I had it shooting good, then I bubba'd the stock, now POI is way off.

Pretty solid evidence, I promise this will have been the only stock I bubba.

I learned something valuable from it, don't mess with stuff that works fine.

it wouldnt happen to be a 91/30 with welded scope mount, and a russian M44 to go with it, would it? if not then I'm thinking fo someone else....

Nah, it's a 91/30. I shimmed it and stuff and it was all good, added Mojo Snap sights and handloads it got even better. Then I did some home gun smith pillar crap and ruined it.

This is my only milsurp, there will be more... and they will stay bone stock.

Just need a new stock for this one them I'm done my ameture gun smithing. I'll change parts and thats it.

I was joking, and no, i'm not the guy!

alrighty, gotcha ;) maybe contact the dealers that sell mosins, see if any have take-off stocks they can sell you. trade-ex used to have M44 stocks but theyve all been sold. posting a WTB ad in the EE usually turns up quite a bit and you can also try numrich and ebay if nothing turns up in Canada
