Source for pewter?

I'm contemplating making a pewter nose cap for a rifle, and was just wondering if anyone knows where a person could pick up a 1/2 pound or so of pewter.

pewter seems to be a thing of the past! likely to to with lead issues. Unless you are trying to cast it I would be inclined to use aluminum that way I wouldn't feel the need to wash my hands after every time I handled the forend

Pewter is primarily Tin, but can include varying amounts of Lead, Antimony and Copper. What mix do you seek?

I can make up anything from about 99% Tin and 1% Copper to 85% Tin, 13% Lead and traces of Antimony and Copper.

For pouring "nosecaps", i just use 95/5 solder, or "lead free" solder, very similar to pewter and pours beautifully.
