Source for short Savage/Stevens .22 barrel?

I have read the posts on the 13" savage/stevens .22 that are available.

However I have a Savage .22 with an accutrigger that I am wondering if I could simply get a factory 13" barrel for.

Anyone know if it is possible to replace the barrel on a stock Savage with one of these 13" barrels?

Any idea if Savage Canada would part with a short barrel or re-barrel my rifle?

Sorry bud I don't think it is possible. The action is connected to the barrel and you cannot cut a factory barrel that short. Your best bet is to buy one brand new or buy one used from the Equipment Exchange Forum (E+E).

You can replace the barrel, but it takes some effort. Getting a short barrel from Savage would be the hard part.

OP, I put a 16" Shilen on a Savage Mk.II receiver, but Shilen won't make them any shorter than 16". You could replace it with a shorty 10/22 barrel, but that only has one extractor groove and you would have to add the second groove yourself.
