Source for Taurus Beretta 92 copy?

Why not get a real Beretta 92?

+1..... personally, I'd save the extra bucks and get the Beretta.

To me the Taurus is just as well build with some improvements in some spots and it is a fair bit cheaper. Anything on it that might turn out to be under par I can easily replace with real Beretta parts

i think the main benefit of the T over the B is the frame-mounted safety/fire/decocker (3-pos) of the most recent version. if it wasn't for that, i'd go for the B.

I'm sot sure you can just swap the parts like that. some might work but not all.

If you can get a used newer PT92 or 99 for a good price go for it. new I think it wouldn't be much cheaper than a Beretta.

well, i can tell you for a fact that the MAGS for a beretta will NOT fit a taurus- you can insert , but the slot is a little narrower or in the wrong spot or something - either way , you either have to machine a new hole, or file the existing one- i know that taurus has the tooling for the beretta 92, but there are SIGNIFICANT INTERNAL differences-if something goes wrong, you'd better be handy with a file- they're not all drop in parts- it's not the parts don't LOOK the same, but that the TOLERANCES are different

Lol alright then I was wrong...but I still would rather get the Taurus instead of the Beretta:p...I only have so much $ I can put down at once for a gun sadly.

go used. there was a nice deal on a stainless taurus 9mm recently on EE, but it's gone. if i knew i wanted a 9mm beretta-type, i would have snatched it. but i waited, so someone else grabbed it.

keep looking, though. they do pop up and at relatively good prices.

I get your point, but if you end up needing a part for your Taurus that is not compatible with a similar model Beretta you will be $hit out of luck getting customer service in Canada. At that point you will wish you had spend the extra $$ for the Beretta over the then paper-weight Taurus.

A lot of the advice you are getting comes from the "been there, done that, got the t-shirt" crowd.... ;)

Taurus vs Beretta

I've had two Berretas, one in the early 90's, the other in 2005. The Taurus PT-99 I have now beats both. I know there are people who will want to crucify me for saying that but that's been my experience:ar15:
