source of lead based solder

solder

any plumbing supply store shold have 50/50 in 1 and 5 lb rolls or in 1 lb bars as well for those sheet metal workers who still use it for sealing joints to make them water tite.

In electronics we use 63/37. This mix does not form a plastic stage between the melt and the solid tempertures.

solder

try Aklands Grainger they should have either 50/50 , 60/40 or bar solder or contact your local bearing supply house I have been buying (high pressure) bearing babbit for doing my casting and I beleive that it's tin to led content is 83%tin 17%lead

For soldering i would use the Kester flux from crappy Tire, for casting/cleaning a melt for other then soldering i would use either bees wax or marvellux or flakes from a bar of soap containing "stearate"(sp?).
