I am looking to buy a couple of 106 / 107 mm barrels for SIG P229 / P228 from a vendor in USA and then import to Canada via Prophet River or Irunguns etc. Please share who would be your vendor of choice to order the barrels (also, do you know any vendor who sells stainless steel barrels for SIGs?)

You can probably get a factory Sig barrel from the importer without leaving the country. Any direct fit barrel will provide the same performance ie, a "match" barrel without fitting won't give you anything that a factory barrel won't give you.

I am not sure if either vendor carries Canada-legal 107mm barrels for SIG P229. The question was which vendors or companies sell or can make / special order 107mm barrels?

Brownells may be an answer to your question, just need to search their website....

https://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/barrel-parts/barrels/threaded-barrel-9mm-sig-sauer-p228-p229-prod102239.aspx

You may be able to avoid the import fees if the barrel length can be confirmed via a quick phone call.

Questar (near Barrie) also carries some extended 229 barrels....but you were asking for barrels specifically from South of the border...so I apologize if I am not answering your original question yet again...

Thanks for your input. I am looking for non threaded 107mm barrels for SIG P229, preferably in stainless steel. (I should have been clear about the non-threaded requirement so this is my bad) I have looked up those available at Questar and Brownels - unfortnuately they are all threaded. Hence I was looking South of the boarder assuming they have a large aftermarket. If I can find it in Canada that would be my first choice.

No real reason in the US to have a non-threaded barrel over the factory length - most of the extended barrels in the US are extended and threaded for use with a can. If you can have the standard, non-extended barrel why would you want an extended one other than for a can?

I want to purchase a P229 from gunbroker.com (and subsequently import via one of the vendors). The problem is that P229 with a factory barrel would be a prohibited device in Canada due to our brilliant gun laws. Hence one would need to find / source separately an extended length barrel. Both the gun and the barrel would then be shipped to the importing vendor (prophet river or IRG) who would then put it together and import into Canada as a restricted. This sounds complex because it surely is. But please share if you know a simpler way.

I believe most of the 106mm sig barrels in the P229 a few years back were done by the factory. Unless one went custom and the barrel manufacturer was willing to make one, you are stuck with threaded barrel.
