Well, Murphy's law struck me. I commented in another forum thread that I have shot a lot of rounds through my Tara TM-9 pistol with no issues. Well, last night during PPC league my trigger bar broke. An internet search so far has failed me as to where I can find/get this part, let alone any part for the Tara pistol.

Anyone have a lead on where to buy Tara parts? I have checked a variety of site sponsors and so far have not been successful.

Thanks

(and to anyone who is going to say "you should have bought a Glock", you are probably right - replacement parts would be easier to get I'm sure!)

You have the same trigger bar curse as mine had. I have been searching for parts for a long time with no luck. I bought TM-9’s at auction that seem to have this same problem and had the trigger assemblies removed, presumably to be replaced. If you still have all pieces of your trigger bar, I would be interested in machining a die to press out new ones and if I have any luck, would send you a couple for your trouble. I’m pretty good with machining and metal work so let me know if you would have any interest in loaning me or selling me your trigger bar and possibly trigger to make new ones from it. I have contacted the North American distributor as well as the manufacturer and neither of them will provide parts.

So is it just the trigger bar that is the issue, or are there other parts needed? I saw those incomplete Tara's last year in one of the auctions and wondered why so many were incomplete.

I bought one used, that supposedly had only 50rds through it. I shot it only briefly this year; work has been too busy to get out again. It had many ftf, a problem I read with the mags, but clears up after several boxes of ammo.

However, because of the low bore axis, it was very soft recoil and little muzzle flip. It certainly deserves to be kept serviceable.

I see many on gunbroker in the USA, but they are all sold as surplus, so again no warranty or parts support. But there's enough in the USA and Canada to warrant making the required pieces.

I also see there's a 2nd gen, TMX-9, that the trigger looks similar, so wonder if any parts are compatible. It's sold as new, so there should be factory support for them.

Agreed, stock up on parts while you can.

Personally, I'd buy a complete pistol from IRUNGUNS and have them strip the frame for the spare parts. It's probably never going to be cheaper, or more available than it is now.
