Sources for a metal SKS mag release?

I've seen the plastic extended releases tried an metal AK styled mag release, didn't like any other choices out there for Tapco duckbill mags and yes I saw magazines with the built in release?

I don't understand your question - the mag-release that is standard with the SKS functions fine with the Tapco mags. The mags themselves need slight mods by filing a bit off the back and front corners so they slide in easily, but that needs to be done for convenience not basic function. see first pic : - the second pic is to allow stripper-clip feed to function better with Tapco mags -

Only Archangel makes the build in mag release, it is plastic and it works excellent. The other one in a Fab defense stock which has the mag release build in or the SBI mag release which modifies the rifle mag release. I have all 3 of them and all work fine. Or you buy a SKS-D which uses AK magazines.
