Sources for Garand accessories?

Howdy folks!

I just purchased a very nice Garand from a fellow CGNer the other day and am now searching for some accessories for it. I'm mainly looking for a repro 1907 sling, preferably brown with brass hardware. But the old canvas 10 pouch en bloc belts look interesting too.

I found all kinds of this stuff on amazon.com, but I'm not sure if they will ship to Canada. Anybody know of any Canadian sources for this type of stuff? I already checked out Marstar, but they are sold out of all the stuff 'm looking for.

Thanks,

Bill

Check the Equipment Exchange here. Prices can be terrifying for some items, but there also are some nice deals that show up from time to time. Wait your time, find what you want at a decent price.... and be READY to send that "I'll take it!" PM.

Also, keep an eye on what Anthony brings in at Trade-Ex; he is always coming up with interesting things.

Similarly, Marstar and Epps list a lot of stuff. Epps' listing is a bother to go through but it often contains some gems. I found a magazine for my Water Pistol there and they were good enough to hold it until the pension cheques came in!

Friend JP from this forum also comes up with interesting items and he is a thoroughly-helpful guy. He is at PS Militaria in Sherbrooke. Check their Website, too!

And do not ignore some of the senior (and very advanced) collector/shooters who post here. Sometimes they will have spare items and will let them go to a good home, at fair prices.

This is a COMMUNITY of Gun Nutz..... and very often it ACTS the way one should.

Good luck in your quest!

Just go on Ebay and search "garand". It's chockablock full of every type of gee-haw you would want incl bayonets, grenade launchers and sights thereto, ctg belts, en bloc clips, and web and leather slings. There are originals and repros of all this stuff, so beware. Unlike parts, this stuff is non-controversial so vendors will do export shipments.

Just don't bother asking Fulton Armory in the US to ship *anything* in Canada. They are deathly afraid of stumbling across the ITAR regulations line by accident...

Before the ITAR regs clanged in they were a wonderful supplier for folks in Canada.

Thanks for the help guys! I forgot all about ebay, put just ordered a nice repro sling with a nice oiled finish and brass hardware just like I wanted. Thanks purple for clearing the ITAR rules up for me. It gets hard sometimes to remember what all is good or not good to ship across the border.

So basically what your saying is that as long is it isn't firearms parts it is generally ok? Would that mean that chest rigs and MOLLE pouches would be fine too?

Any body order en blocs from the states before? Some 5-rounders would probably be necessary if I want to take it out hunting.

After scouring the internet some more, I seem to be at a lose for finding anyone who has or will ship en blocs to Canada. I'm specifically looking for 5 round en blocs so I can take the Garand on patrol for deer and moose!

Anybody seen any around? Or know a site that will ship from the states?

I contacted Liberty Tree Collectors and they said they would not ship en blocs to Canada.

On a side not, I also found some more stuff from a company called Olongapo Outfitters, they don't ship to Canada either! Starting to wonder if I should try going through irunguns or some kind of import service...

We have a crate of US made En-Bloc clips coming in with our June shipment. Check out our website in 1-2 weeks and you'll see them up for sale. Price depends on what it'll cost for freight. Haven't had that confirmed yet.

I bought my 5 rounders from Creedmoor Sports in Kalifornia a couple of years ago. Price was reasonable, service excellent and shipping fair.

"...stuff on..." Amazon and the evil that is E-Bay is primarily reproduction kit. Mind you, that's ok. Real W.W. II/Korea vintage stuff is expensive. However, parts etc for M1 rifles are not on the U.S. restricted for export list, so anything you order from there should come. Providing the maker has the high priced Dept of Commerce licence to export. Most will not. You will find some stuff at gun shows. You have to know what it's worth. Some guys selling M1 kit at shows think they have a pile of gold.
"...looking for 5 round en blocs so..." That an AB hunting regs thing?

Thanks for the heads up NRMagazine, I'll keep an eye on your site for when they come in.

I got everything all straightened out between eBay and Brownells. I bought a nice repro 1907 sling off of eBay, and a few 5-round en blocs as well as a nice buttstock ammo pouch (Olongapo Outfitters, if your a Garand fan check them out!) from Brownells.

Sunray, I was never interested in original Garand kit. I would feel horrible if I ended up wrecking pieces of history while hunting and such, so the reproduction stuff will fit my needs. And yes, Alberta and Ontario (I'm from Ontario) both have 5 round magazine limits while hunting.

I've been using a Turner Sling (actually mine is an AWS) but I am quite enamoured of it. I ordered directly from them and had no issues, but it was a few years back now.
