Sourcing an AR barrel for budget build?

I'm currently building my first AR and while it isn't a bottom of the barrel budget build, I'm trying to keep it under $1200 or so. I'm looking at getting a 10.5-12.5" barrel but am having a difficult time finding one! I have been checking the EE casually for months now but I am always too slow.

I'm looking at around $250 and really like the S&J barrel as well as the NEA offerings but both seem to be out of stock. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if I want the A2 front sight. I really like the looks but it seems the majority of people with shorter barreled rifles don't have this and I'm not sure if this is sue to performance or what. Any major differences between the 10.5, 11.5 and 12.5 or does it come down to personal preference?

fabsports has 10,5'' nea barrels in stock.

Not having an A2 is personal preference and keep in mind that they require drilling holes through the barrel if you want to install them.

I got an NEA 14.5 Barrle arriving tomorrow for my build got from SFRC ammo source good price for the NEA barrels

Can't wait to put some rounds through it when the build is complete
