Sourcing Glock Parts Kits in Canada

Hello CGN,

I am trying to source complete upper and lower OEM parts kits for my Glocks. One is an older Gen 2 G17 so that may be hard to source. Is there any place in Canada that would have these available? If not, does anyone have any experience importing these from the US?

Thank you.

Gun Post has numerous people selling off Glock parts. Guys strip down a pistol and sell all the parts

Certainly true, but I am not really interested in buying a stripped slide. I would prefer to find new OEM parts that do not come with a 200-500% mark up. I would much rather try to source for kits as sold by the Glock Store or the like.

I think we would all prefer that but there is a reason why people are asking a 200-500% mark up. The parts aren't available here and its getting harder and harder everyday to get them imported. I would just hold off for a while if you can, maybe the political climate will change and parts will be readily available again.

I would imagine Irunguns or A Z T E C armoury could import what you need quite easily. Your other option is to order them yourself from Brownells in the USA, however I’m not positive you could get OEM from Brownells but they definitely have aftermarket upper and lower kits available

Brownells will not ship Glock OEM parts to a Canadian address (it looks like Glock's distribution rules, so I wouldn't expect any US retailer to do so). Aftermarket parts are different, and they may ship to Canada depending on the manufacturer.

If you want an OEM set, IRUNGUNS can help. You buy a complete pistol on their US site, then they strip the frame, pin the mags, and import everything but the frame for you. Price and fees are reasonable, much better than the typical markup you see for used Glock parts kits in Canada.

For your Gen2 G17, they likely won't have one available new, but they can buy a used one for you and do the same strip-import thing as above. Costs more though, so probably not worth it.

Thanks alpining, I had been in contact with them previously and figured that was my best bet. I was trying to figure out a Canadian compliant barrel from the Glock store and how I could make that work. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything else as a good option.

In my experience, The Glock Store will export accessories, but they will refuse to export any firearm parts, including sights.

There might be some 2 pin G17 Gen 3 floating around that would be parts compatible with your Gen2. Many parts are Gen 1-3 compatible especially the upper parts.

Since when?. I ordered some RSA's, a firing pin and some other small parts from them maybe 2 months ago. No issues at all.

I was considering buying a complete G17 Gen 3 and a G19 Gen 4 from the Glock Store and have IRG send me everything minus the frames. I was hoping to figure out a plan for a barrel swap for the G19.

...Brownelles has had restrictions on OEM Glock parts for a while now but aftermarket stuff has never been a problem.
Some aftermarket stuff they won't ship to Canada, it depends on the brand (probably just due to more manufacturer-specific distribution restrictions).

Why not just buy those direct from the IRG US site? Your import fee will be much lower (maybe $25 vs. $225 IIRC).

As for the G19 barrel, I don't think there's a solution for Canadian-compliant OEM option. It's not impossible, but I've only ever seen those barrels available as part of complete pistols (back in the good old days). There are good aftermarket barrels available though, and that's one thing I'd be least concerned about going non-OEM.

Correct. This was about 2 months ago so maybe things changed. If you are close to the border just ship them to a US PO box.
That is strange. I could have sworn the Brownells site hasn't let me ship Glock OEM for quite a while. I guess it's always worth checking.

I don't know the ins and outs of the US PO box solution, but I'd for sure want to be careful to look in to the US export regulations on gun parts. CDN import side as well, just to be sure, but I've heard it's the US export side that can get you.
