My trusty EoTech 551 is in need of new batteries and I'm having trouble sourcing bulk N cell batteries to feed it. Of course there are some at Radio Scrap (aka The Source) but it's something I'd rather buy 10-15 pairs of...

There are some sources in the US but with the shipping it comes about to the same unit price as the Source's

There are also some rechargeables on Ebay but no word on quality :S

Unless you have a number of eotechs.. or they are always on.. you might be better only getting a couple... they are subject to the short shelf life and temperature issues with all standard alkaline batteries

Buying N cells? Go to the US. When I was living in a bordertown severl months ago I noticed N cells in the local hardware store. $2.19 for a two pack of energizers. At Canadian Tire, the cheapest place I have ever seen them in Canada they are $8.79 for the same package. Needless to say I cleaned out the hardware store and ordered in a bunch more. Three packs for the price of one, why not stock up.

Now I am sure batteries don't have the CFC and nrcan to go through them, why do they cost three times as much here?

Sometimes this country just gets to me with the pricing. Gas, batteries, gunstuff. The Canadian government must think we are all made of money. Way too much tax and not enough money left over to buy a $10 pack of batteries.
