Nice! I've always wanted to go on one of those high volume bird shoots... The big game would be a bonus!

Cheers

The bird shoot cost me $25CDN for all the beer, soda and food one could eat! Target 28Gr (1Oz) ammo is used as it is around 5000 feet altitude and patterns are tight. A flat of ammo cost 750Rands or about $107 CDN.

There are a few Brits that organise bird shoots in S.A. They charge many thousand of pounds for something that costs peanuts!

I may be crazy but the way your 375 bullet mushroomed looks just like the hells angels death head to me.. On the right side you can see the teeth and eyes and the head sweeping back to the left. It's no jesus, but pretty dam cool nonetheless !!

The Waterbuck was hit between 160 and 175 M (guide estimates). The 300 Gr Hornady BTSP took out the kidneys and most of the liver. The animal did 20 paces and laid down. We waited a few minutes before proceding forward. At about 20 yards, it got up after which I shot it at the base of the neck. It expeired whitin a minute! We check dead animals by poking the eye. No mouvement= dead!

I used my South African friends rifle and bullet load. While accurate, I was a bit disapointed with bullet performance as I prefer a 300 Partiton in my 375HH in NA hunts. I am sending him some Barnes for load and game testing.

Henry;)
