south african R4 (LM4) rifle prohib??

while ive decided I need an R4 again but seeing as its FA or CA

did any of the LM4 semi auto only rilfes make it in ?

I just looked at the prohib list and did not see them named (are they ?am i blind)

I thought they stopped making them awhile ago, no demand. They banned semi-auto rifles in South Africa awhile back, around 1989, but you could keep them if you already had one, not sure what the current situation is since they changed the law again.

I've only ever seen one in the flesh, I knew a guy in Florida who brought his with him when he moved there from South Africa in 1986. He sold it for $8,000, IIRC, and that was awhile ago, back in the early 1990s.

I saw one in milarm in the eigthies. I remember being told that there were only four that came in before the sactions against south africa came into force.

Actually it's a Galil built under license by ARMSCOR in SA....(R4 is a Galil AR, R5 is a Galil SAR)
