Ok, the Norwegians are a good buy and I got one. Now in my hunt for the VERY RARE AND VERY EXPENSIVE original German Manufactured G 33/40 Mountain Karbines (True Karbines) in my opinion due to a real short barrel and design to make it much lighter than the K98k's etc.... (I'm sure that will stir the rats nest:D )

Anyhow I am interested in getting my hands on what I consider a very similar looking and designed type of rifle that should not get the same amount of HATRED as the Mitchal Mauser Tanker Got from you guys...

These rifles I am talking about are REAL milsurps that were manufactured for and used by many different South American countries military forces.

Information on these rifles is limited, at least I have not found as much as I would have thought.

But I have included some pics for your inspection. The first lot is of a Colombian mod 24 FN manufacture Mauser in 30.06. The caliber was the specified caliber by Colombia, so it is original from the manufacture. NOT rebarreled (I put that there for Ugly:D )

The second lot is a Chilean mod 1935 Mauser in 7x57mm. (Tres Nice)

And the last (Thanks to Longbranch) are some pics of a Norwegian re-work German G 33/40. (NOTE TO UGLY, THIS G33 is still in 8mm!!, but since the Bad Norwegians got their hands on it, according to you it ain't a collector?) Umm,,, this rifle would fetch a grand very easily.... anyway..

ARE THESE FN and MAUSER made SA contracts collectable?

She is so pretty ,I love that crossed rifles Chile stamp it is beautiful.

There were all sorts of strange chop jobs and mods done by the germans and allies during and before the war so things like the Mitchells Tanker is not totally unreasonable. I think it looks kind of cool. I know there were Garands that short made so why is it so bad to make one now? I would never buy from Mitchells but they are doing a lot to make your collection worth more.

I've got one of those Colombians - very cool. Not for sale, but I would trade for a baker's dozen of those Mitchell's "Collectibles".;)

I guess I have missed all the fun. Someone has been defending those rebuilt mausers being peddled as legitimate collector guns? The book has been closed on Mitchell's within Milsurp circles for a long time (since day one). Should be 'nuff said.

I'm in Phoenix on business and was able to handle one at a small gunshow I attended yesterday in Mesa. Good (re-) work, but nothing but a modern day bubba.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those short Columbians. I remember seeing an add for them in Shotgun News a few years back and I've wanted one ever since. Anyone know the barrel length? I think it's around 16" or so IIRC.
