South of Edmonton Gophers

I saw some squished ones around lethbridge last weekend and that got me really antsy to get out and find some but i live in leduc so they usualy come out later so with the good weather we've had lately i'm sure i'll see a couple if the field has at least some clear patches and dirrect sunshine
 
just got back from the field i shoot unfortunatly its still covered in snow and it was a good 3 degrees colder there(just north of hwy 19) then in leduc didn't even see one

ha i just saw another on airport road in nisku, they're out!
 
Where can I go to shoot gophers? I want to pick up a 22-250 or 223 for gophers and just fun, but not sure if I should bother if I don't know where to go for gophers.

Get in the car and start to drive. Get off the main highway, look at pastures until you see one with lots of gophers in it. Go the nearest house and ask if it's their land. If it is ask permission, be nice and courteous. If it's not, ask if they can point you in the direction of the landowner. Shoot til you drop.

Almost seems too easy.

Would be nice to have someone show me the ropes around Edmonton if possible.
Not that I really look but it seems mostly crops around here.
 
I know!!!. The gophers are out already...in march!. hahaha...I wacked approx 50 on sunday at a friends farm using a .22mag...and one of my friend was using the remmy .243 that I sold him...he loaded some 75gr. ATVBT mounted a leupold Mark4 8.5-25x50mm TMR, you can actually see the gophers got vaporized...BUT he like to use my HS pro2000 better.hahaha....in .308!$$$ammo.

Can't wait to show you what my 20 EXTREME does to gophers. Here is a picture of some that two friends from Australia shot last fall. A Remington XR-100 in 20 EXTREME is going to look pretty good.

i hate you guys i'm now stuck in camp and have to wait a week before i can go lookin for gophers on the up side i'll be buying a new 204 when i get on days off so i can finally detonate gophers too

That is a sweet looking rifle! I hope your 22 EXTREME will be ready for the gopher shoot this year, and can't wait to see it too(The EXTREME)!....and I am not joking!...you should bring no less then 2 to 3 rifles...and approximately thousand rounds+ of ammo for the shoot...hahaha...and don't forget to pack a lunch!...hahaha....
