We were out yesterday with a general whitetail tag and a couple of mulie doe tags, and my buddy's son held the whitetail tag. We found deer at our first location and he tagged this little guy within about 2 hours. He shot him with a 270 at a ranged 240 yards with a Barnes 130 gr TSX, dropping him in his tracks, but he got back up again so a 2nd shot was used to finish him. We think the first shot was a bit too high and far back, but probably would have been fatal anyway. Beautiful warm southern Alberta...

We usually use a sled to haul out our game, it works pretty good, even on dry ground.
