Here's a chance to give something back to help wildlife in Southern Alberta! SRD has provided $ to change fencing at CFB Suffiled to help antelope move more freely to and from the base. Basically the bottom wire will be change from a barbwire to a single strand and raised to a minimum of 18" to be more antelope friendly. The range @ CFB Suffield is a very important piece of ground for southern Alberta's antelope population. The work will be carried out by volunteers that are comprised of Biologist's, local ranchers, fish and game members and interested hunter's and wildlife enthusiasts LIKE YOU! Here are the particulars:
Safety Seminar & Information Session – March 25, 2009 (7:00 pm – 9:00 pm) at CFB Suffield
Fencing Days
April 2nd
April 3rd
April 4th
April 5th
Feel free to pm me with any questions you may have. Volunteers need not have any fencing experience as there will be expertise on each crew. Hopefully winter's clutches will be behind us and if you get "cabin fever" like I do it'll be a great chance to get out and check out the abundant wildlife that thrives on the Base.
Thanks
