Just got back from four days in southern Alberta and saw over 100 mule deer bucks and about 500 does. Must have seen 25 whitetail bucks and a couple hundred whitetail does as well. Populations are definitely strong where we were although exceptional mule deer bucks did seem scarce. We saw two bucks in the 170-class and the story was the same from most hunters we talked to. The rut was in full swing and the action was pretty incredible. Vanessa ended up taking this buck at 257 yards with the Creedmoor. Not the monster we were dreaming of but a pretty respectable buck none the less.
