In the UK gun owners and manufactures have found a work around to the semi auto ban. On the left side of the AR, where the safety would be, is a "ledge" type lever you push down to release the action.

So, you pull the trigger, the gun fires, the bolt locks to the rear, you hit the release lever, the action closes, you pull the trigger. Repeat until empty.

It lets them have AKs, ARs, etc while still not having semi. But it gets close to semi auto feel.

Innovative and sad all at the same time.
