I was rabbit hunting back in 2000 with a buddy in my old stomping grounds around the Silverdale Gun Club and in about three to four hours of trying to bust out cottontails we flushed 7 grouse over my yellow lab. Shocked the daylights out of me. Growing up in St.Catharines I saw the disappearance of the wild pheasant populations and only ever saw two grouse while rabbit hunting one of which we shot. The two I saw were around the same area as where we flushed the 7 that day. We actually saw more grouse than cottontails that afternoon. That was the last time I was ever back there, cannot recall the WMU #? 88? 89?
