Southern ontario gun ranges?

Another thing I want to add. The closer the shooting range is to the heart of Bantario, the more BS one suffers. That is why it took me so long to find the right club that is close enough drive to boot. SInce it is indoor and up to 25 yards and does not really allow rifles, I still need to go to elsewhere to get my full jollies once or twice a year.

Being that Target is only 15mins drive from me. I'm going to burn too much $$$ firing 9mm even though I'm going to reload. I finally gave in and bought a P220 .22lr classic to supplement my P226. Hehe...

I even considered joining Orillia gun club, that is located right behind Epps. That would be a bad idea.

You could also try the barrie gun club. Expensive to join, but first rate club and the people are top notch too. I took my PAL/RPAL there, if i didnt live an hour away i would have joined just because of the people.

Nothing terrible just BS really.

I was at Silverdale today renewing my membership. I was reminded again what awsome people they are. Even the store is great. Seth is a pleasure to deal with. He was not there today (moose hunting). But his mother in-law was, and she is as great as all of them. They have installed a gate that opens and closes with a card so now you don't even have to get out to open the gate.

Archery range
Action shooting range
25 yd
50 yd
100 yd
200 yd
They also have a metric range 40, 60, 100 meters
Trap shooting

I co-sign that :D

Great place.

Silverdale this year I believe has somewhere around 1500 members. I don't know about other clubs in the GTA but that might help keep costs down. I would say it is worth the drive. Just when you come bring every gun you own, and start reloading so you can shoot all day. I will say the weekends during hunting season are frustrating so I tend to not go during the weekends in October, and November, but other than that you will not find a better club in the area. Gun, and ammo shop on site as well. RO's are willing to help you site in your guns, and give you alot of tips if you are willing to ask, and listen. I am also a member of Pincrest Pistol and Revolver Club in St. Catharines, but it is Handgun only, 50 feet. It is another good club for it's purpose, but it is small and limited. I am lucky that I live 3 minutes from Pinecrest, and 20 minutes from silverdale.

I took my restricted and non restriced at Silverdale on a few friends reccomendations. They seem to be a real great club who are very friendly. I also just took the cub safety course at Wentworth shoothing club here in Hamilton as I would like to start shooting as soon as my RPAL comes in. It seems to be a pretty good club also. Everyone I met seemed to be real nice. The only reason I am joining it right now is it's indoors and Silverdale is outdoors.

It's seems that Silversale is probably the best option as BRRC is the North Korea of gun ranges. Definitely give Silverdale a try, or else you'll be #####ing about making a bad choice.

So went yesterday and signed up with Silverdale. It is well worth the price and the drive is not that bad (1 hour and 4 minutes from Mississauga) as long as you have one other person to keep you entertained!

The process is simple and easy for new people to the sport. The people at the range are helpful. A Range officer, I believe his name was Todd, even sighted in my Mossberg and answered every single one of my many inquires.

+1 Silverdale!

Silverdale is too far for me but it sounds great. I go to Colby at Shooter's Choice in Waterloo. 24hrs access indoor range.

I just don't know why so many clubs here in GTA are so full of BS. Why can't they be more like Silverdale? It's not like Silverdale has less liability to face if anything goes wrong.

Not to nitpick symantics, but... Silverdale isn't a "club" in the same sense as most other shooting clubs.
It's "owned" and "operated" for profit. It's a business.
I'd liken it to a gym or health club... "Membership" fees allow access/use of the facilities, but... Members are really just customers.

At least that's how it was when I had a silverdale membership.

Maybe there's less so called BS because no one but the owner is in charge?

Personally I prefer member run clubs... As for The BS associated with them... People gotta learn to deal.
Life is BS. Lol
