Tomorrow is opening day for S. Ontario muzzler loader only deer hunt. Who's going to be out there and what are you using for a rifle? I'll be out there bright and early with my flintlock .50 Great Plains Rifle.

Is this a controlled hunt??
Or only in your part of Southern Ontario.
Here it doesn't start till dec 8 i think it is.
Yep - just got back from 92C - same - deer in it before first light and didn't want to leave it either until dusk or later. They started moving in the corn each day with about 20 minutes of legal light left. We could hear bucks sparing in the corn....nothing but oceans of friggin corn & 6 turkey's.
NEF Huntsman SS, T7 loose, 250 SST, .25acp conversion with Win small rifle primers, custom Hubbard solid brass ramrod, and a Leupold 4x33...
Our season doesn't open here until the 30th.
I think differently - my levers in 30-30 and 35Rem are superior by far IMO....and most of the guns used out perform the traditional .30-30 and .35 Remington deer favourites of old.
