that's low, hes outa touch I think. have a look what deac brens and MP40s and such go for. a good Mk1 bren will bring 12-1400 now. first CA I bought was a new unissued inglis dated 42 it came with a bunch of mags and the box, tools ect ect. it was 1200 then
 
I believe Clotho meant "to dewat" a 74, not the value of a dewat 74. $5-600 just for the service of doing dewat modifications

Haha yes, 500-600 just to do the work. Good luck finding one in the first place. I imagine these will be the only ones in Canada for a very very long time. From what I saw in the pictures there couldn't have been more than 50.

I think they will be hard to come by and therefore expensive. Congrats to those with the foresight to order one.

I also think we are fortunate to have someone with the knowledge, skill and experience to jump through the hoops and fill out the reams of paperwork to bring these to us. Making this happen was probably a challenge.
 
I saw it the first day and thought ah maybe but I didn't want a pistol damn should have known ..... Story of my damn life ! I still need a range finder and reloading kit and spotting scope so I guess no loss in reality. That svt looks cool and a ak 74 damn that would have been neat! Poopy! Just uh poopy ! Just like that 399 58 two Christmases ago.... Some deals I tell ya ! Lol

Just curious though... how many were for sale and how many were bought by CGNers and other Canadians vs overseas purchasers..
 
I got the deal! Not just for the ak but mostly because the soviet sks, svt and the tt33 were all ranking really high on my to buy list. And the ak is freaking cool. So why not buy em all at the same time and get this free ak74 :) I would not have gotten this combo just for the ak if I didnt really want the other guns so I guess this is a perfect deal for me. I love soviet guns so I cant wait to get them !!

That is one hell of a way to enter the red gun collecting world. Welcome to the club.

You may find yourself eventually buying duplicates haha.
 
In general, I find that hunters and shooters tend to be some of the finest examples of humanity that one could hope to meet.

You'd sure never know it from reading this thread and listening to all the whiny, #####ing'n'moaning complainers responding to a legitimate businessman who is trying to conduct his retail trade. Don't like it? DON'T BUY IT!!

Holy CRAP I agree - all those whiners need to pull up their panties and shut the H$LL up! Don't like the deal, then don't buy it!
 
I think a lot of people have unrealistic ideas of what free means.

When you buy a car and the dealership give you "free" floor mats, they really aren't free they have been paid for by the cost of the car. Same thing here the individual price of each firearm maybe the "normal" pricing but that likely covers the cost on the dewat.

If you want free go get a coffee from mcdonalds. Again I would have jumped on the deal if I could have.
