Hey, Airgun Nutz. Just want to share a little bit of joy of restoring an older air rifle with all of you...

It was a year of 1980 when my Granddad and myself walked into the Army Volunteers(DOSAAF) air gun shooting range in my hometown...Grandpa was a Great Patriotic War Vet and then was very keen when it was coming to shooting guns. So, needless to say my first airgun I have ever shot was IJ-22.Good old IJ-38, TOZ-12 and Margolin Pistol came later.
I still remember that day, the smell of the "dieseled" oil vapour after my first shot...The old guy who ran the place was from Northern Caucasus and my Granddad, an Armenian, became very good friends since then. To my joy of course. Because while them two were drinking vodka and exchanging memories about the past War I had an unlimited access to the rifles and Diabolo pellets. Safety first, right?
Decades later I found the rifle similar to the Very First One here in Canada. It is an older IJ-22 with wooden stock. She came in pieces, full of rust of course and with many missing parts. With help of very good friend of mine in Russia who supplied me with everything I needed, she finally came back to life again...She still shoots like a laser, functions like a Swiss clock, locks like a vault and delivers a punch.

I have the ИЖ-38 air rifle, and a .22 long rifle Margolin pistol and .22 short Margolin pistol. For inexpensive guns they are all made well and surprisingly accurate.
