Had a chance to see a tricked out CZ SP-01 last night at GPST. Wow!

This thing is solid! Felt like a fullsize SVI/STI
According to shooters (GMs) the trigger was arould 7lbs DA and 2lbs SA
Competition Rear Sights and Fibre Optic Front Sights
High rise beavertail
Competition Hammer
Light recoil spring and hammer spring
Pinned 18 rd mags

If i had the coin this would be my next prod. pistol!

The owner said the factory 10rd mags suck and will cause problems. The 18rds are allot better. The gun is new so the trigger isn't fully smooth!
Lets see a review with 10-20k through it. IPSC1, chime in.

Ok I have a SP-01 Tactical, and the trigger in is definitely not 7lb DA and 2lb SA. It's more like 22lb DA and 5lb SA out of the box, and the SA's got a lot of creep. After taking the trigger, sear/hammer, decocker assembly apart and polishing them, and putting them back together, and dry firing which pisses my gf off all day long... well all afternoon long, while watching TV. The trigger pull for DA is down to 10lb DA and 3lb SA and still quite a bit of creep. Maybe when I have time I will take it apart again and polish some more. But it's just a pain in the ... to put it all back together.

so all you have to do now is drop in a 15 lb mainspring and the competition hammer and you will have an 8 lb DA and 2.2 SA pull. some trigger slick on the sear engagement surfaces helps too. But teh decocker mechanism may prevent you from going lower than that.

15-20 k rounds and the pull just gets smoother. never had a problem (function wise) with 10 round mags, unlike para mags, seating them hard just seats the base in place. The only downside is they are shorter than the SP01 factory mags, so unless you have the full metal body 10 round mags that you can put a basepad on, you loose a bit of smoothness on the reload.

FO sights are not much of a factor for me, I bought them and have not installed yet, perhaps this spring, now that we are outside I will give them a try. I have them on my edge and I haven't found them to be better yet.

love my SP01 , only malfs have been ammo related, directly due to laziness on my part. best money I ever spent.

What about modification to original factory parts? shorten springs... polish and stoning here and there... I'm thinking about shortening the firing pin spring so that the hammer wouldn't have to hit as hard, and then I can use a shortened main spring... I have no problem with the 10rd mag either, works perfectly, apparently SP-01 take Baby eagle mags as well, I definitely need to get more magz before my BB course. Does anyone know if the 75B mags fit?

Thanks. Can I buy parts directly from that site if it's under $100 USD? Think I'm gonna get the main spring and the comp hammer.
Contact Angus there. You may find he has "beneficial" interpretations of the $100 rule. ;)
