i have standard sp ( not shadow) and would like to know what upgrades you shadow guys are using, spring rates, hammers etc

thanks:D

Get TWO mainsprings and clip two turns off the first one. Then clip a half coil at a time off until it occasionally has a light strike. Back up one turn for certainty and you'll have as light a double action pull as you can get with decent reliability for the range. You'll be amazed at how light you can get it before it suffers. This is on the Shadow so perhaps the hammer and lack of disconnect will play a part.

#13 mainspring, #14 recoil spring if shooting factory rounds, #11 recoil spring if reloads at or below 130PF. Don't cut it too close on the power factor (min 125, NOT 124.9) almost doesn't count. F/O front sight, competition or Shadow rear sight, flat magazine brake, flat mainspring plug, competition hammer, *extended slide release. Extended mag release and thin aluminum grips if you have smallish hands. Optional, you can remove the FPB (firing pin block) and lifter (must install spacer when lifter is remove or use wide sear). Yes, this is production legal because some SP-01's left the factory without these parts installed. Removing the FPB lightens trigger pull and shorter trigger reset. 85C trigger also a option. Practice.

*I can't remember if the SP-01 comes with a extended slide release or not :confused:

You should have purchased a Shadow instead of spending extra money on these parts :D.

I may be wrong but, IIRC - if the gun left factory with FPB - it has to stay in place for the gun to be legal in Production.

For upgrades/tweaks:
- comp hammer, 13# main spring and FO/comp sights would prolly help the most;
- 11# or 12# recoil springs;

The subject has been talked about. Check Global Village:
See posts #8, 9 and 15. Removing the FPB is a option.

Yeah, I also though the FPB couldn't be removed, as it's a safety and in production you can't touch the safeties at all. In standard div. you sure can though.

USPSA also has weight limits. Did this SP-01 come with or without the factory option FPB? You may or may not know. Who cares unless you are shooting USPSA.
