Now that the 2012 Shadow is IPSC production approved can anyone direct me towards a retailer who can supply one?

Thanks
Pat

how are they different?

Other than cosmetics (orange grip and Al base pads) the barrel and slide are hand fitted along with a tuned trigger, better hammer. Should be a little more accurate. Wonder how much more it will cost though?

CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW 2012

The CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW 2012 pistol differs in new procedures and operations added as a part of the serial production process (e.g. the manual fitting of the barrel, the lateral definition of the free movement of the bolt and the sophisticated trigger mechanism). The gun has a burnished barrel and its "orange 2012" name is based principally on its long thin and aluminium grips of that colour. The weapon is presented in an identical case to that of the CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE.

Features:
handmade barrel matching and precise slide side setting
Improved trigger mechanism
polished barrel
metal polished recoil spring guide
polished recoil spring + recoil spring set (13 lbs. And 11 lbs.)
Polished main spring + main spring set (13 lbs. And 16 lbs.)
Buffer set (3x thick, 2x thin)
orange grips - thin, long (aluminium)
3x magazine with aluminium magazine bottom (orange)
defender type rear sights and red fiber optic front sight 5,5 x 2,5 x 1 mm
newly designed sa/da hammer
cleaning oil, loader, cd, polymer case
better shooting comfort, increased accuracy.
more stable recoil during shooting. Parts service life increased.
smooth and precise trigger mechanism.

From their site... brand new gun, might take a little while to get them to Canada.

I had the shadow. Great gun. This will be worth the wait!!!

Sounds like it was seriously UPDATED. I did love my CZ75b, but it has gone to a new owner. This one if competitively priced might bring me back to CZ. The orange is not that appealing, hope other colours are available.

You can always Change the grips. I know I will be lol

would that not be re-finishing and so putting you out of production? I know it is the grips, not the gun, but some interpretations are more anal than others.
Don't you just love production rules. I'll probably end up keeping the ###y orange grips and slapping some grip tape on it (that if I can get my hands on a 2012 model that is!!)

I dont know if this gun will actually be that much better then a normal shadow. The trigger job on the shadow was already pretty darn good, and yes I can shoot better with a Berretta 92 for some reason, maybe the weight of the pistol and longer sight radius, my shadow cant get much better.

Also, for those who own shadows, can we upgrade the hammer and trigger to make it so much "better".

I feel like this might be marketing hype.

I dunno. I have a shadow with te 13lb mainspring and I fondled a new cz shadow with a trigger job from the guys at crafm and it puts my shadow to shame!!!

The trigger of the fellow shooter was like 5lb da and under 3lbs sa. Crazy how smooth the da trigger was. It's well worth the extra $$$ they charge.

The only potential benefit I see is the hand fitting of slide and barrel and that's only a benefit if done correctly. My Sp-01 shadow with 13lb mainspring and combat hammer had an amazing trigger for an IPSC production legal gun. I don't know how it could have been improved upon!!

Try the trigger's from a tuned shadow by the guys at crafm. Your 7-8lb DA pull will be like a tuned S&W 625 with 5.00001lbs of pull.

crazy!

All I can do for IPSC to remain legal is change the mainspring and hammer. What that alone the trigger pull is much better than the standard shadow. What interests me more is how much more accurate is the gun wih the handful barrel and slide.

The basic shadow is more than accurate enough for IPSC. What I want to know is what part the guys polished to get that smooth and light da first pull. That is the thing I hate about my shadows.
