Just got my CZ SP-01 Tactical today and I'm in awe. I've never shot or even held a CZ before, I bought it blind based on all the good things I've read about it.

It's a perfect fit, like it was designed around my hand. I've never been so impressed with a gun before.
Haven't shot it yet, hopefully tomarrow if I can get my hands on some ammo.

To all the IPSC production shooters going to Edmonton this weekend, it looks like you all are going to be fighting for 2nd place. 1st has already been decided....... ya right.:D :bsFlag:

What if I have an SP01 as well?

I'd only be worried if yours had Tactical written on the slide.:)
Looks like I won't be competing with it this weekend because I can't find a left hand holster for it.

First impressions of this gun were great but after dry firing it (probably a thousand times) last night I'm got some major complaints regarding the trigger.
Double action is very stiff and gritty. And single action has way more creep than a single action should. It feels like my Glocks double action trigger except it's not nearly as smooth and is a heavier pull as well.

And they put an extreme curve on the trigger for some reason. At first it felt fine but after awhile my finger got sore because the tip jabs into my finger.

It's still a great gun just needs some work to smooth out the trigger. Ergonomics are second to none other than the trigger itself.

I just picked up my tactical today and am looking forward to going to the range, hopefully next week, but i am still waiting for the registration papers so i'll just have to wait.

After 1500 rounds and a similar amount of dry firing, the trigger in my SP01 is much improved.

If I knew how, I'd have buffed/polished up a bit to speed up the process, but it is fine now.

And the only guns that function as flawlessly as mine at our club are the Glocks.

I just replaced the recoil and main spring in my SP01 and it made quite a noticeable difference. Check out Ghostholster.com for your CZ needs.

I will probably do the same thing as long as IPSC rules will allow me too. Have to do some more reading.

Too bad. I would have shown you my SP01 with CZ USA stuff all over it making it almost a Shadow.

x2 on getting a new 14# recoil spring and 11#mainspring from ghostholster. After 1500 rnds the trigger is better but is still the worst part of this great handgun. If I ever upgrade it'll be to the Shadow.

I just bought a Shadow and the trigger is pretty much the same. There are a few nice additions to the Shadow from the SP01 but not enough for me to endorse the upgrade.

Take the old hammer off and put the CZ custom hammer on from Ghostholster and you will not stop laughing.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you know if the CZ custom hammer is legal for production division?

From Angus's site

CZ USA SA / DA Competition Hammer

Hammer will fit most models DA / SA CZ Pistols.
We suggest that this be fitted by a competent gunsmith.
Greatly reduces sear creep, lightens and smoothes the Single action trigger.
Use in conjunction with light main spring (15lb) for smoother lighter DA trigger pull.
This is the one you need for the SA Only as well.
You just don't use the DA parts.
This is a CZ USA part fitted on a version of the SP01 therefore legal for "Production"
We recomend buying the 15lb Mainspring if you are using this hammer.

That's a good idea! How hard is it to put in the custom hammer?

Not hard at all. It may need a little fitting. Mind didnt but we are talking about CZ here...

If you buy from Angus he is always available online to answer questions about his products or just phone him.

Too bad you didnt go to the match Braiot. You would have seen me shooting flat on my back for half a stage and still ended up winning the thing.

However, I must say I will not shoot my SP01 in an IPSC match again.

Thats too bad I didn't run into you Brioat, always nice to meet CGN'ers.

That's funny, we were in the same squad, although I didn't realize it until now. :D
I was telling you that I had to reshoot stage 6, and I was all happy about it because I blew it the first time around.

I bet if you had the SP-01 Tactical you wouldn't have fallen. :D
