Wondered if anybody here ever used SP 85 ever for their .40 SW, shooting Minor/Production.

Who makes SP 85 ? I've just started reloading for the 40 S&W and have been using Winchester 231, same powder that I have been using for 45 ACP. As soon as the 4 pounds of that is gone I will switch to Tite Group as recommended from others.

I don't recall seeing SP 85 in my reloading manuals... is it new?

You have a cheap supply of it? Why did you want to try it?

SP 85 is a surplus powder to which I got lots about 3 years ago on clearance.

I still have a few pounds left and I use it for my .38 Super with great results.

Not available anymore. And since I still have lots, I was hoping somebody here would have used it.

I tried using 4 grains and that would not cycle the XD. I got 485 velocity on that. I will have to go up to maybe 6 grains and work from there.

I will switch once I finish it but right now ... Help ....
