Does anyone know if the safety detent plunger (Number 64) on the SP01 is the same on a CZ 85?

My ambi safety has popped off again. Its less than 6 months old and has been sent back to London arms before for the same problem. Looks like the gunsmith machined a piece of metal to fit into the spot where the plunger sits and glued it there. It didnt last.

Im sure the spring (Number 31) is the same. Anybody know where I can find these parts if they are the same? I need to get up and running for this next weekend at Lethbridge so any input helps.

I guess I should ask if people are haveing problems with they're SP01's. Heard a rumour that someone else in town has an ambi issue with the SP01 but have'nt talked to the person or anything.

Also does anyone know of a location online that I can download a cutaway for the SP01?

Thanks,

no difference...

btw, on the CZ. Last match a CZ broke the slide stop ..might wanna order a few extras.

also, a owner said he had some fte problems with reloads, no problem with factory.

Thanks I only looked on the cz usa site and coulnt find one.

The decocker model has an ambi also.

Looks like they put a safety tang detent from a 75TS instead of what is on the cutaway. Its too small and falls out - made for a different pistol anyway.

I bought a few springs that were about the same size width and pitch but was too long so I cut them to fit in behind the safety tang.

I have had three fte in about four thousand rounds. First when I first got it back from gunsmith (UMC) then the other two recently during my BB course - both of those with canadianbdx reloads. Anybody look at the brass after firing off some of their reloads? Serious deformation - either loads out to lunch or weak brass. I heard Pheonix sent all of their reloads back due to inconsistency. Something to think about.

Thanks for the help guys.

So far, my reloads from Canadian BDX have been fine. Over 850rds so far, no FTF or FTE. We tested some with a new CED chrony, and the 147gr 9mm averaged 934fps, with a S.D. of only 4.6fps. Thats using the Plated projectiles (X-Treme/west coast)

What is it with the slide stops on these models? I have seen this numerous times over the internet.

it has to do with the barrel lockup during recoil or smth like that...

a buffer might help but will hinder the reliability...

I've had no problems with mine. I'm only at about 200 rounds through it so far though. I'm shooting Winclean 124 grain.

Wow Just got er up and running again and the first day back to the range my trigger spring broke. :'(

This pistol is like four months old with one and a half of those being with a gunsmith.

All this right before my first IPSC match next weekend in Lethbridge. Anyone know of a hook up for a trigger sring?

Thanks

I'd recommend sending it back to the distr for the work, but if you want to do it yourself, I have a spring that should work (TZ spring, but I think it is pretty close)

I dry fire my sp-01 tactical like crazy everyday. And shoot it every weekend, 100rounds per session. Haven't seen anything break it. I guess the tactical is a bit more durable? :)

Or... dry firing is less stressful than shooting. maybe. :)

I also broke my trigger spring in my SP-01 and it was but 3 weeks old...was DA dry firing on a snap cap(was lubing the trigger spring every evening before I dry fired as well).

I was a little ticked but hey.....the SA has "smoothed out" very nicely. Before I started wearing it in it was very "gritty". After I get spring changed I will run a few thousand rounds through it then get trigger done this fall.

My dealer G&T promptly ordered me a replacement. I also ordered one from London Arms.

It is not hard to change if you get yourself a small center punch like a 2mm or 3mm I believe. I put several layers of black electrical tape on surfaces of my pistol to protect against scratching. You have to give it a fair whack as the pin is staked with a centerpunch to hold it in place.

I have mine pounded out only halfway so all I have to do now is wait for the spring drop it in, pound the pin back in and re-stake it and I am off to the races....

Here are a couple of discussions about it...

I would just like to thank Redleg (James) at TSE for giving me the spring to get me going again for the weekend match at Lethbridge. I ended up using a trigger spring out of my CZ 75B to stay IPSC PD legal but I appreciated the help.

I got 6th for my first match with 81.04% :) if anyone was interested. :p

Thanks for all the input guys
