I have a carton of SP83 from Higginson's. I don't see it on several burning rate charts I looked at. I understand it might be a bit slower than Herco? Can anybody shed any light on this powder?

Thanks in advance. :)

what cal do you want to load with it? I dont have burn rate but do have some data on it. I likely used 12 lbs in 40. down to my last few ounces of it.
9mm 124 gr bullet 4.0-4.5 grs
40 S&W 175 gr bullet 5.2-5.6
45 ACP 200 gr bullet 5.4-6.2 (says not ideal for 45)

as usual start on the low end and go up with caution (disclaimer).

Higginson's not have data? Kind of suspect it's really old stuff as there's no mention of proprietary powders on their site.

The unusual powders dealt by Higginson's and its predecessor Ammomart weren't proprietary, they were repackaged surplus. A Google search suggests that SP83 was made in Australia by ADI and Herco is the closest canister equivalent.
