space in my mossberg 500

hey

I just go a mossberg 500 and took it apart to clean it all up and after when i put it back to gether again there was a space between the begining of the barel and the stock? The space is like 1/4 long! Can you please help!!!

Do u mean where the barrel attaches to the threaded portion on the end of the mag tube? Is the barrel fully seated into the reciever?

You have to retract the forearm when tightening the nut. As you bring it back, the barrel extension will seat into the receiver and permit the nut to be snugged tight.

Make sure the shotgun is racked at half slide and seat the barrel in nice and tight, then tighten the nut. It should be pretty flush.

You can wiggle the barrel as well. It might not be in the correct position.
