Hi all, I am just finishing reading Hemmingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and it has piqued my interest in Spanish Civil War firearms (Mausers, Mosins, etc).

Can anyone recommend a good reference book on Spanish Civil War firearms (markings, models, etc)that I can read this summer in an attempt to get this idea out of my system before I start actually buying this stuff?!?

thanks :)

If you liked "bell tolls", consider reading McClennan's "The Watch that Ends the Night". It's a canadian novel, but full of Spanish civil war references ;)

Also, "Homage to Catalonia" is a novel written by George Orwell about his experiences fighting against Franco. It's a really good read, he takes you on a couple of midnight trench raids, chronicals being wounded and evacuated to Madrid, and then escaping arrest and execution as his side turned on itself.
