* Spanish Ruby-Type IDEAL pistol with « SA » marking
A recent acquisition.
A Ruby-type pistol named « IDEAL », made by Francisco Arizmendi y Goenaga, as shown on legend on left slide.
Initials « A.G. » appear on back of left frame.
Caliber: 7,65mm
One of the numerous Spanish pistols that were shipped to Findland circa 1919 to support the White Army fighting against Red Guards who were supported by Russia, and later marked « SA » standing for « Suomen Armeija » (Finnish Army).
This « SA » mark is also stamped on mag toe, over another stamp « HE » (name of subcontractor : Hijos de Echeverria).
The holster that came with fits the pistol correctly, but it is unmarked except for some unreadable digits and letters under flap.
The weapon number 454 on floorplate does not correspond to the pistol serial number. The extra mag is not marked.
For your appreciation, fellow collectors
