Spanish Side by side question

Do you seriously expect anyone to offer an opinion when the ONLY information you have is the country where the gun was made and the gauge?:
Could be a gem, could be a junker. Could be worth thousands or nothing.
Knowing who made the gun would be a good start.

Make is an AYA
Sorry for very general question gentlemen. So far I know its an AYA side by side, with one trigger. I believe this is due to the fact that it was meant to be imported to teh US. My dad baught it in Spain though over 28 yrs ago or more. I will post pictures by this weekend.

Aya's come in several different grades and are actually quite a nice modern SXS.In fact have seen one in the states worth 28,000.Who says they are just cheap knock offs.I have a Sarsqueta Ebore from Spain [I BELIEVE] and it fell to pieces shooting trap load.Old is not always good

It would make it easier to determine price range if you could provide the exact name or model....might read as Eg: AYA Model 56 or AYA Coral etc.....and pics, of course, in addition to general description i.e. chamber, bbl length, chokes, physical description etc.
AyA is a maker that is still in operation. They have made over the years fine sidelock shotguns to basic boxlocks. Try this link for the difference between a boxlock and a sidelock if you don't already know.

I've seen AyA boxlocks that were worth a two or three hundred dollars right up to their sidelocks worth many thousands. Gauge, barrel length, engraving and wood quality also matter when trying to put a value on a gun.
The interesting part is that it was bought in Spain. The Spaniards treat their guns like they treat their wines. They tend to keep the good ones for themselves.
