18.5 (mm) = Cylinder

18.1 (mm) = Modified

~~~~~~~~
EDIT:
18.5mm = 0.728 Bore
18.1mm = 0.713 ~ 0.015 Constriction
17.4mm = 0.685 ~ 0.043 Constriction
0.729 - Nominal Bore
0.717 - Skeet II - 0.012 Constriction
0.710 - Modified - 0.019 Constriction
0.694 - Full ----- 0.035 Constriction
0.689 - X-Full --- 0.040 Constriction
I might be wrong but from what I read it is full and modified . I am assuming both barrels are at 18.5 bore as they both have that marking which is just under standard bore of .729. The 17.4 under the 18.5 on one barrel would be full and the barrel that has 18 marked under the 18.5 would be modified. Like I said, maybe I am wrong.
The way I figure it is: both barrels are marked 18.5 which is .7283 which is just under standard bore of .729. When converting 17.4 you divide that by 25.4 because we are working in millimeters. That gives .685 when subtracted from .728 gives .043 which is full choke.
When dividing 18.0 by 25.4 it gives .708 when subtracted from .728 is .020 which is modified.
However, to really know what your chokes are throwing, you need to shoot some test patterns.
I agree.
I read 18.5mm (.728") / 18.1mm (.713") or .015" constriction ...
and 18.5mm (.728") / 17.4mm (.685") or .043" constriction from the nominal bore diameters of .728"
Conventionally 12 gauge choke constrictions are often said to be .010" Improved Cylinder
or "1/4 choke", .020" Modified or "1/2 choke", .030" Improved Modified or "3/4 choke"
amd .040" or "Full Choke".
From my read, if unaltered, your Laurona is choked "Light Modified" ( 1/2 way between Improved Cylinder and Modified ) and Extra Full ( a little more than Full choke )
Despite the markings, the only sure test is to pattern at 40 yards for percentage of the total shot charge within a 30" circle with the cartridges you use. A 5 shot average for each barrel is considered indicative. Quite often, results are not what the barrels (or chokes) are marked due to a variety of factors.
The usual chokes on this type of gun are half and full (in english!), the "standard" for a sporting gun in the UK. However, we often get them bored out to, say, improved cylinder and a quarter as they are a great gun for pigeon decoying, where the action is close up.
A gauge or patterning should help get to the truth.
