and why?? its a house starling... they are schedual "C" animals here in bc and can be killed anywhere at anytime without a license
 
Google Images is your friend...what you shot does not look like a starling...it looks like a sparrow of some kind. Starlings have a longer beak...that beak is short. also the colours arent even close.

Know your target, and do some research before you head out.

cus I dont want anymore flack... its a house sparrow, and still legal. I thought it was a starling cus the white bits on its feathers looked like spots at first
 
I don't know about BC, but here in Ontario, Starlings, House Sparrows and Blackbirds (including the Red-Wing variety) are not protected and even considered pests. Ontario Out of Doors even dedicated a whole article to the subject of hunting them (replete with pie recipe).
 
Ohhh how I can't wait for redwings to come back!

Last year we shot around 300. Went through 4 flats of #4s.
