anyone having trouble with sparrows and starilings there tearing up my siding
one big problem is in windsor its a no firearms discharge area (this uncludes air guns :( ) so i cant use my normal method (winchester or federal .22 bird shot and light .410 loads in a 12 to .410 insert) anyone know what to do here theres trap and such and i do have a slingshot powerful enough to kill a rabbit with a head shot(not a kids toy this is a flat band shooter i use thera band exercise bands cut to fit and .45 cal lead balls)

Sling Shots will ruin your siding as well :( Also not the most accurate of tools when considering use in an urban environment.

What you can try is what a lot of commercial buildings use. Any area they can perch on, have some vertical steel "bristles". This stops them from landing.

slingshot not accurate lol i can hit a playing card at 15 yards yea the big problem is i need some one to install the spike things as i dont climb ladders already have to pay for some new siding dam birds i just wish i could use the .22 with shot

them plactic owls only work for so long trust me on that one

i'll wait for them to land in the yard hand have at it with the sligshot while i wait for the new siding and flashing to be up on(any little gaps and the dam things find there way in)

Make some starling traps.

Essentially, you start with a soup can, and a wood box wide enough to put the can between the sides.

Operations principle is based on the Starlings and sparrows desire to enter a hole to nest or shelter. They enter the hole, the weight of the bird causes the can to drop, they exit the other side of the box into the holding area, the trap resets itself.
Here's one version.

You can make it up to look like a birdhouse. Some guys use PVC plumbing pipe to mount the trap as well as to feed the catch into the hold.

A 20L pail makes a good hold. Melt some screen into part of the lid, so the birds can breathe, and leave an apple or two inside for food and water.

Get a bird book, and a spray can of starting fluid (ether). The bird book is to ID the songbird species, so you can pick them out. It's illegal to kill songbirds. Pay close attention to the sparrows you catch. Some are protected species. Most will be English Sparrows, which are not.

Anyway, a squirt of ether and cover the vents on the bucket, and you are done with the days haul of pest species.

Do take down your trap if you are not able to check it at least daily, eh.

Do your best to birdproof your house, too. All the traps you can build, won't stop the skyrats from coming in from the rest of the city. Best you can do is to thin the herd.

i guess i could trap then and take them out of the city limits to dispatch them

already to day i got 3 out of the yard with the slinghot gave some of the cats around here a easy meal :p (we like having street cats around here for the rats and birds there not really feral thay like humans )
