Well I always wanted a NICE commander length 1911, and bit the bullet with one of these. Got a 9mm Nork Gov...meh, never did it for me....
Fit and finish is great, nice and tight, only plastic is the MSH and trigger, priced right as well.....but what in the #### kind of setup is that reverse plug bull####....HOLY HELL it was a dangerous affair stripping that thing down.
Instructions tell you to make a tool by "bending a paperclip" to stick in the hole of the guiderod that you can see once you compress the spring with your thumb...only problem is it take both thumbs to compress the ####ing spring enough to get the "tool" in that little hole. Finally get it out and you have to leave it "captive" like that for the re-assembly....only thing holding a 18lb spring is 1/2mm of paperclip....so I put the ####ing thing in the safe while I was cleaning the rest of the gun as I couldn't help but think it's gonna grenade on me at anytime and blow one of my eyes out....#### that.
Then on reassembly, I'm thinking piece of cake, got the slide all back together, start pulling it back to line up the link pin, slide's jammed...only goes one way...back, spring is compressed but NO tension as something is jammed all up in there. So I check my tool, nope, didn't break that 1/2mm off in the guiderod, must be something else. Hard to tell but it seems like the link is the problem....start the slide stop in and bam, slide lets go...I was ready for that though, but could have been a rocket across the floor.
I'll get to shoot it Monday and see if it was worth it...and if that ####ing reverse plug is all it's suppose to be
