Looking to replace my trusty Harris as I find the rota-pod pretty heavy. I was looking at the Atlas seriously when I came across this:

I like the simplicity and weight but I want something burly and as stuff or stiffer than the harris.

Has anyone used this bipod before? Thoughts?

At $300 USD I personally wouldn't but it.

I am a big fan of the Atlas bipods - I have both the PSR and the CAL.

If I were going to buy a very pricey bipod I would be looking at the Ckye pod.

Watching the video, it looks like when its locked down it has a lot of wiggle and jiggle, It looks too tall for me (I know the listed height compares to my Harris, but when he shows them on rifles, they look ungainly tall). It's your money ,but for me, the Harris is the best budget bipod, and the Atlas per is a perfect 'nice' bipod.

This. I run a few Harris' with all the add ons: Atlas adapters, extensions, spikes, podlocs, RRS pic/arca adapters. When I next buy a bipod, I'm gonna hold my nose and buy a Ckye-pod. They're spendy but man can you do a lot with them.

Spartan Equipment is very high quality, and as you can see it comes at a price. There are a number of systems out there, this is but one of them. I personally like this system a lot, particularly the ability to have snow 'shoes' which I use about about 3 times a year!

Really is personal choice, I find it very stable and equal to any other system there is of this kind on the market. Do I prefer it over a Harris, maybe, on certain occasions. Do I prefer it over a Atlas, probably not, but not always.

Candocad.

It's a nice looking bipod but at 21 ounces that's not an option for a carry rifle - that's almost like adding another full size optic. At $500 USD it's also almost twice the price of the Spartan/Atlas PSR.

Candocad, which model do you have? Would you find the stability on par with the Atlas? Is there a substantial amount of flex during loading?

I'm not against the spending the extra dough (even for the Ckye) but at the $400 and over price point my tolerance for compromise is pretty low.

Like everything, it really depends on what your intended use is. The lightest option is pretty much always going to be a Harris (you can take off the "rota-pod", not sure what that's for, panning?)

Yeah, it's a pic rail adapter that allows panning. My Harris is also heavier because I have other crap I've retrofitted to make it more in line with what the Atlas offers - hawk hill feet adapter/spike feet and pod loc lever. I could pull those off but I think I'd lose the functionality. As well, I have a number of rifles that share the bipod so the QD is pretty much a must have.
