Ive allways wanted a spas 12 I know theyre supposedly aweful. I just want one. I had considering trying to get a sas-12 or a pa8 and buying a high quality metal airsoft Spas-12 to scrap for the pump and heat shield. They make metal folding stocks but I dont think they would hold up ,might be wrong, question is where the pump doesn't have to take alot of stress and the heat shield is metal could this be done?

My Hatsan semi auto with over folder looks like one. I posted pictures a couple years ago. The over folder was ordered in and was made for the shotgun. Was about $100 or so. Very solid. That being said it's cook but for actual shooting I often prefer it in Benelu M4 clone form with the pistol grip and regular stock.

Shot one back in the 80s. Aren't they prohib now? Heavy with a complicated action switching between semi and pump action. Not bad for recoil but I wouldn't shoulder it in pump mode with the metal stock shooting buckshot or slugs. Mean looking gun. Worked reliably. Wasn't it designed for prison guard work? IIRC, it was deliberately made complicated so if an inmate got his hands on one, he could get off one shot before being over-powered. At least that's the story I recall from the dark recesses of my mind.

Would you mind posti g the pics again? Would like to see it!

I know all the bad sides of the spas, and I want to build this on a franchi sas or pa8 because they both can be found with the real top folder, I cant see why I wouldn't be able to make the airsoft pump and heat sheild work even with removing some materials. I just dont know if they could handle the punishment. Not worried about recoil I have a DA 1887 I can fire slugs out of accurately one handed... T-800 style lol.

Is that you John Connor!?

Prohibited and confiscated with no compensation for being too scary looking, long ago.
There is no using parts from toy rifles on real firearms. Metal parts on toys are white metal and will not stand up to real cartridges.

I'm not talking toy. I'm talking about 600 dollar high quality ones. I bought a m79 just for a laugh it's real wood steel and aluminum and Until you pick it up it looks no Diffrent from the real thing. There are spas 12 air soft shotguns with pressed steel stocks and heat shields I'm not sure what they use for the pump slide material but I assume at the very least I could hollow it out and fill it with some kind of epoxy.. Actual parts for the thing are near non existent. Looking for ideas, not someone saying I can't do it. Worst case scenario the slide falls off

Personally if I built a clone I'd want it to work like one. Find the gun the spas 12 is based on and modify it to allow the gas to escape when in pump mode. Alot of work but less than convincing the anti gunners to remove her from the list.

I'm not positive but I think the spas wasn't based on any other shotgun. There is two legal versions that come with the iconic top folding stock( franchi sas-12 and PA8) and ideally that's what I'll base on because I wouldn't bother trying to use an air soft folding stock but I think the heat shield and pump would be fine

Supposidly the spas 11 which the 12 came from was built on a modified semi auto from the company. Probably a hard to find shotgun in its own right.
