Spatsizi

Carverk moors his boat (or used to) at Port Ed near Rupert. I have a buddy there as well. I never met Carverk but was going to connect with him next time I went to visit buddy but that was a couple years now. I will give him call and see if Carverk's boat is still handy?

if you can that would be great..... we can keep in touch over this by pm if you want.
Planning to take the wife on a 10 day trip during next fall's deer season so would be nice to drop in an visit if he is still around.
His sister is in Burns lake , might swing by and visit if I make it up that way later in October.

not to muddy the waters or cause a debate but there are several really good guys that happen to be first nations, that have left CGN due to the attitudes and wanton disregard a great many members have shown in their posts towards Canada's indigenous peoples. That coupled with a lack of moderation on that subject is probably the reason carverk left us but I am just speculating.

anyhow hope the OP is okay, successful hunt or not.

Missing in Spatsizi Provincial Park
Tom Leonard failed to return from a fall hunting trip in Northwestern British Columbia at Spatsizi Plateau Provincial Wilderness Park. Tom signed in at the Eaglenest Trail Head on September 11, 2005 and continued on backpacking on his limited entry sheep hunt. When he failed to return home on October 2, 2005 RCMP conducted a search and located his truck at the base of the mountain at Eaglenest Trail. Search and rescue was called in and they conducted a search using aircraft and ground trackers but there was no trace of the missing man. Due to weather conditions the search was called off on October 8, 2005 and the family was reassured that a recovery operation would be conducted in the spring when weather conditions permitted.

Sixteen years since Tom has been missing ...
I am sure anyone who is going or has gone to Spatsizi Plateau has heard about Tom, but just in case....

I took him fishing on the skeena once and talked to him a couple times afterwards, he used to live up by the hospital in Rupert but the last time I spoke to him he talked about the boat and possibly going to live in Masset. He's a good guy and a talented man. I enjoyed his company but like others havent seen him and his unimog in at least a couple years now. I would suggest checking Masset on the Gwaii or Stewart BC as he spoke fondly of Stewart as well.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but he passed away in a boating accident earlier this year, There’s a thread in here about it,

ya I sure miss Carverk.
I did end up reconnecting by email and we had several long phone calls from various places.
He had planned to possibly stay at my place for an overnight stop on his way to the lower portion of the province after fishing season but sadly that never came to be.
He talked about a stone carving he made for my wife and I but that he was going to bring down on that trip and I often daydream about what it might have been. He did not describe it and I have never seen a picture so it will remain a forever mystery. In fall 2022 I plan to travel to Old Masset with my wife and spend a couple weeks on the north beach and will have a little ceremony around the camp fire.

My hunting partner and his girlfriend just left for a trip up north, stopping in here for a night as folks travelling north do from time to time. I think they might be ill prepared for the excursion the have planned but he is a seasoned outdoorsman so hopefully they are fine. They plan to do the round trip up thru liard into yukon and then back down the dease /telegraph creek way. I think they are planning to leave thier F150 and RPod trailer and spend a few days up a mountain for goats so I hope they return safe and successful
