Speaking of knobs

alright so i checked out the post, thought id give this thing a try see how i liked it. figure 28 bucks isnt bad. these monkeys want 28 bucks to ship it aswell. theres no way something thats smaller then a golf ball and weighs nothing can possibly cost 28 bucks to ship to canada. ill pass, this is how places like this loose business from people like me. i was ready to buy it but i wont pay 28 bucks to ship an item worth 28 dollars.

The dimples on a golf ball would provide a very tactikewl gripping surface.

uchi - everyone knows that larger balls are desireable. The equipment performs so much more effectively, shoots so much better.

thats what she said..oooohhhhhhhh

haha sorry i was waiting for a larger knob comment from one of you guys :D

whats the purpose of putting a larger knob on the bolt?

Aside from making you woman think it reflects your personal equipment size... the larger bolt knob makes it easier to grasp and cycle the bolt, especially with a scope. My own Remington was a bit of a pill because the factory bolt handle rode so close to the scope.

I also thought I would get some leverage advantage to open and close the bolt, but there was no winning with my generally rough and heavy bolt.

I don't think there is a down side to the larger bolt knob, just don't drive yourself crazy with the different designs.

As for $28.00 shipping on a $28.00 item, that is crap. But if it gets you a bolt knob for $56.00 you are well ahead of the game compared to a custom install. Unless of course it is crap, then you are out $56.00. :D

I really liked the work done by Allan's Gun Works. Tactical Ordinance also does bolts. You might also try Grizzly Gun works. I think they are located in the Hamilton area (generally speaking)

whats the turn around time generally for having the bolt knob replaced in a real way? maybe if a bunch of us were to get in on this we could save on shipping and it would bring the price down to just over 30 bucks a piece, that would be worth it to me.

i notice my handle is close to the scope to, infact with my scope caps on it hits the little nub the elastic goes on to.

i think if im gonna spend any kind of money itll be for a permanent solution, i dont mind 30 bucks for a plastic screw and glue knob but im a cheap ####er and more than that ill just deal with having a small baby knob
(set myself up for that, carry on)

lol

They don't make up the shipping prices. I hope you know that. Don't blame them.
All packages for continental U.S. addresses are shipped via FedEx or US Postal and transit times will vary depending on location. If you would like an order sent via another carrier (UPS), or expedited via Air shipping, please email us at support@krg-ops.com for details.

Call or email them, and ask about shipping via USPS. I bet it's cheaper.

i just know what shipping is worth, i sent the entire top end of a 4 cyl motor to the middle of the u.s for 45 bucks. i know shipping is out the ass crazy but these guys should realize their method will cost them money and should look into a cheaper alternative. hell ive had bigger items shipped from china for alot less than what theyre asking. lol

why would i do that? the website lists the shipping price, there are no other options for it. i lost interest in it already. if they really wanted to sell these they wouldnt charge the same price to ship as to sell. from my dealings with online vendors ive found often times theyll ask a lower price for an item but make up some extra money in shipping it. hell i had two cans of bore cleaner shipped to me for 14 dollars last week. how the hell can this thing be 28 bucks to ship? and those were two 12 ounce cans.

any company thats gonna rip its customers off with higher shipping rates to pocket more money isnt a company id deal with. thats just the way i lok at things. i dont mind paying for something but stuff like this just doesnt sit well with me

I had my Rem M700 bolts back in 2 weeks from when I mailed them to Mike at Allengunworks.com a board sponsor! I was impressed and I'm ready to do another run of 2 of them ! :D

Saves all that mailing of the bolt knob here and then to the installer! Here's a picture of my .260 Rem rig with the bolt knob from Allen Gun Works, and then juanvaldez did my barrel work install!

Hope you project works out! Trust me you will not regret using Allen Gun Works (even Casey at Tac Ord does this work, too)

A closer look at my 2 bolts, done by Mike at Allen Gun Works!

Cheers and regards,

I will second Juanvaldez. He does great work. When we finish my .338 build I am going to post pictures of a couple that he has either done all the work or helped me get the parts I needed.

Have you read my first post on this subject?

You obviously don't get it. Quit your whining. If you bothered reading, you would know there are other options, and you would know that the vendor doesn<t make money on shipping.

yup i saw your first post and i read what you linked me too. i also tried to use the checkout feature and was only given one option for shipping. quite honestly if i have to chase a company around because their shipping is overpriced its not worth my time to deal with them.

have you read what you linked me to? these guys sound like ####ing idiots. backing out of anything they may sell you, saying they arent responsible for anything that happens through it and that prices and info may not be accurate. this was my favorite part
