Speaking of Mec-tech carbines.......

todays project. rock river arms 5 position collapasble AR stock, graphted on to my mec-tec. I like the little gun, but hated the wire stock.
it was -22 hear today, good day for a project in the shop.\
anyways, thought maybe some of you might enjoy a pic.

Well, i bought the rock river arms stock, compleat with the spring buffer and locking nut from the good fellas over at the shooting edge. Took the nut that is ment to be used to lock the unit into the rear of the AR, and welded it into the rear of the Mec-Tech.
I used the chop saw to get rid of the origianl stock, the the mill to cut it a bit closser, and clean it up, make it square.
I am going to use another lock nut as a jam nut, and if that doesnt hold it solid enough, i will drill and tap the nut welded to the Mec-Tech, and screw it together from underneath.
all in all it turned out great, fits way better. The round tube feels much better on the cheek, than the original flat steel. It would be nice if i had found a black stock, but, green is just fine to.

I was going to get 1 and weld or attach a Ace Ltd Usa carbine stock adapter, pritty much makes any flat surface use a Carstock buffer.
