Any hunter that thinks that's a good change has rocks in their head. Might as well burn your bows right now.
Comparing a spear to a modern bow is like comparing a tricycle to a ferrari. I think the spear hunt caused such a stink because most people accept the fact that it's the most primitive and least efficient tool one could choose to hunt with, besides a rock, which greatly increases the odds of wounding the animal. Choosing such a tool to hunt with when there are so many more efficient tools is irresponsible and serves no purpose other than stroking the hunters ego.
I think they banned it out of fear people would watch this guy and think they could do it themselves. How many people does this actually effect? You can likely count the number of non indigenous spear hunters across Canada on one hand?

Thank you my overlords for still allowing me to do this......for now!Spears and spear-throwing tools such as atlatls are no longer allowed for big game hunting. Rifles, shotguns and conventional archery gear will still be legal.

Same as a gun, arrow or spear what's your point ? Bad shots are bad shots.Maybe we should all do a proficiency test before we are allowed to use anything.Provided you're spear "placement" is good - hitting em in the guts is less than ideal.
